Our Commitment

WithLumi Deals is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that finding great deals should be easy for all shoppers, regardless of how they interact with technology.

Standards We Follow

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for everyone.

What We've Done

Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (search, filters, deal cards, forms) can be navigated using the Tab key. Focus indicators are visible.
Screen reader support: Deal cards include ARIA labels with product names, prices, and retailers. Images have alt text or are hidden from assistive technology when decorative.
Color contrast: We use a dark theme with high-contrast text (WCAG AA compliant). A light theme is also available via the theme toggle.
Responsive design: The site works on mobile, tablet, and desktop screens. Text reflows properly at all viewport sizes.
Form labels: All form fields (email signup, deal submission, search) have associated labels or aria-label attributes.
Skip to content: Keyboard users can skip repetitive navigation.
Resizable text: The site supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of functionality.
No motion dependencies: No functionality requires animations or motion. Users with reduced motion preferences are respected.

Known Limitations

Third-party deal images: Some deal images come from retailer APIs and may not always have descriptive alt text. We are working on improving image descriptions.
Affiliate redirect pages: When you click a deal link, you are redirected to a retailer's website. We cannot control the accessibility of third-party retailer sites.
Lumi AI chat widget: The AI chat widget is keyboard-accessible, but complex conversational interfaces may be challenging for some screen reader users. We are continuously improving this experience.

Technology We Use

Semantic HTML5 elements (header, nav, main, section, footer)
ARIA attributes for dynamic content and custom widgets
CSS custom properties for theming (respects prefers-color-scheme)
Progressive enhancement (core content works without JavaScript)

We aim to respond within 48 hours and resolve critical issues within 2 weeks

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We review our site regularly and work to fix issues as they are identified. As we add new features, accessibility is considered from the design stage.
